Bio

Kate Morris is a wildlife safari and natural wonders guide in Yellowstone National Park. Her journey to guiding began not in a classroom of wildlife biology, but on the rugged coastlines of the Pacific Northwest and the remote wetlands of Alaska. With a B.S. in Civil and Bio-Resources Engineering from Montana State University, she spent five years working in environmental and water resources engineering—designing shoreline protection systems and conducting impact analyses for Arctic wetland preservation. Her work gave her a deep respect for the delicate balance between human infrastructure and natural ecosystems.

Kate first moved to Bozeman in 2015 for college and quickly fell in love with the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Her uncle, a full-time wildlife photographer in Yellowstone, helped nurture her fascination with the park’s wildlife and landscapes. Through him, she learned to see the park not just as a place of beauty, but as a living, breathing system worth protecting.

Now, as a naturalist guide, Kate brings a unique lens to her tours—one that blends engineering insight with ecological reverence. She hopes to inspire guests to see Yellowstone not just as a destination, but as a reminder of how interconnected we are with the wild spaces around us. Her goal is to help visitors carry that connection home and become stewards of their own local environments.

Kate was our tour guide. She not only was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions about Yellowstone, she made absolutely sure we did everything that interested us. It was such an incredible experience and we are so thankful we did the tour and had her. She offered snacks, brought a delicious lunch, had plenty of beverages and offered bathroom/stretch breaks often. It was a perfect day in every way.
