These safaris showcase a grand overview on the hundreds of miles of roads and walkways throughout the Park, as well as seek out our incredible wildlife diversity all along the way. Seeing Yellowstone National Park over the course of two days allows for a little more time outside of the vehicle, as well as more time spent watching wildlife, enjoying nature in a slow and intentional way and visiting many of the Park’s iconic highlights. Your professional naturalist guide is there to interpret the events taking place, and share their in-depth knowledge of history, geology, wildlife biology and the meaning and benefit of the National Parks.

Our 2-Day Yellowstone Wonders Safaris are planned to cover as much of Yellowstone as possible. The needs, desires, and comfort of our guests are our utmost priorities. Our guides are flexible and will lead the journey according to the groups’ interests, current wildlife sightings, and weather. We will help our guests arrange accommodations in Cody, WY, an amazing gateway town which offers lodging, meals and Yellowstone National Park to give you complete access to Yellowstone and its wonders with the addition of an overnight in a charming western town.

Our guides are trained in wilderness safety and are ready to share the incredibly special backcountry of Yellowstone National Park with our guests. Hikes and walks ranging from 20 minutes to several hours are available and encouraged for our guests who long to escape the din of people and cars and enter the magnificent wilderness. Secret thermal features, pristine waterfalls, and undisturbed wildlife encounters are daily finds on our journeys.

Itinerary

Day 1

Yellowstone National Park

Your guide will meet you at a central meeting location in Bozeman or West Yellowstone and you will travel to the closest entrance gate for Yellowstone National Park (either the North Entrance or the West Entrance).  From there, you will spend the day exploring some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the park, with a focus on the Northern Loop of the Park, while delving into the rich diversity of wildlife you encounter along the way. Animals such as wolves, grizzly bears, black bears, coyotes, bald eagles, elk, bison and pronghorn are all possible sightings. We will also stop at Mammoth Hot Springs and enjoy the views in famed Lamar Valley in the Northern Range.

Your naturalist guide will also take you on short walks to view wildlife and experience nature with all of your senses. The day will include a picnic lunch as well as snacks and beverages. We will visit the Grand Canyon and its waterfalls, as well as Hayden Valley, Pelican Valley, and Sylvan Pass on our way to Cody.

Our goal is to arrive in Cody, Wyoming by approximately 4:00pm in the afternoon, giving you time to rest and relax before the dinner hour. You can also opt for a Wild Mustang tour in the McCullough Peaks area that evening from 4-8pm to see a remnant herd of wild horses in a beautiful high-desert landscape.

The Wild Mustang Tour is an optional add-on to this public tour.  Please inquire with our office staff at the time of booking if you would like this included in your itinerary.

Day 2

Yellowstone National Park

We will aim for an early start from Cody this morning  and enter Yellowstone National Park from the Eastern Gate through the gorgeous Shoshone River Canyon. This day will focus on highlights in the Southern Loop including Pelican Valley, Mud Volcano, Yellowstone Lake, West Thumb Geyser Basin, and multiple other geyser basins around the Western Edge of the Park of course including Old Faithful’s eruption.

We will have numerous options for hiking and exploring throughout the day, as well as time for hands-on investigations into the lives of Yellowstone’s various birds and large game mammals. Your guide will return you to your staring point by early evening, in time for you to check-in and enjoy dinner and the rest of your vacation.

We, a group of eight, recently embarked on a wildlife safari from Bozeman. I wanted to take a moment to express our deep appreciation for the incredible experience our guide provided. Thanks to him, we were able to spot a variety of wildlife including a grizzly, a black bear, mountain goat and her kids, among others. His expertise, along with the correct binoculars and spotting scope, allowed us to observe these magnificent creatures from afar. Without his guidance, we would have missed out on these remarkable sightings.

Even if you don’t get to see wildlife the beauty of Yellowstone is worth the visit.

Our guide's kindness and informative nature added immense value to our trip, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you once again for creating such special memories for myself and my family.

FAQs

What if I have a specific desire to see something in Yellowstone, will it disrupt the group?

Not if we can help it! We want to know as much about you and your interests before and during the tour and will do our best to show all of our group as much of what they want to see as possible.

How much luggage can we bring on this tour?

We allow 1 piece of carry on baggage and a small personal item with each person, much like what you would take on a plane. We will have all of our luggage with us at all times so want to make sure we can fit everything in our van for comfort.

What else is there to do in Cody besides the Wild Mustang tour?

Cody hosts the Center for the West, a wonderful comprehensive museum of the history of the region which we are happy to help you enjoy, as well as a nightly rodeo between Memorial Day and Labor Day you are welcome to attend. There are great restaurants and unique shops on Shoshone Ave (a historic Main St. to visit).
