Spring Bear and Wolf Safari

Join our 2-day private SPECIALTY SAFARI to watch black and grizzly bears as well as gray wolves. Spring (mid-April to mid-July) is the best time.

Grizzly in Flowers 0About the Safari

Learn about these fascinating animals and observe them following their normal routine: foraging, traveling, or hunting, and behaving naturally and undisturbed. Using binoculars and spotting scopes, we can unobtrusively share the scenes which unfold before us. Your wildlife biologist guide will interpret the many facets in the lives of these animals, and help you to understand the events taking place on the landscape before you.

This is a two-day event which follows wildlife movements and emphasizing bears and wolves as well as predator-prey relationships. This extended private safari tour provides the opportunity for a more in-depth experience than a single day. It allows for a full-day experience on day 1, an early morning start on day 2, an evening immediately prior, and a flexible schedule with enough time for possible backcountry activities. We will also be able to take in other Yellowstone features.

We provide scrumptious picnic lunches on both days, just like on our Full Day Safaris. In addition, we provide a field breakfast on day two. Overnight accommodations near the Northeast entrance in picturesque Silver Gate, Montana included.

Did You Know?

The Swahili word "safari" simply means "journey" and so we consider our tours to be journeys to a deeper understanding of wild animals and their habitats, geology and their ancient forces, history and its meaning for today. Journeys, too, to find peace and joy in the natural world. And last, but not least, journeys that lead to our own wild soul.
